Close to 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the area, producing wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Damage
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews activated to manage the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, approximately one thousand households in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred calls for help across the area, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

- Hoppers Crossing suburb - numerous assistance requests
- Wyndham - over 175 calls for assistance
During the peak on yesterday, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both states.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the region.
